# IPP Identification

At Sharkdom, we know how difficult it is to create a workable Ideal Partner Profile (IPP) and avoid dormant partners.

Know the KPIs, such as which partnerships are best suited for your business, partnership insights, and Marketplace Health Score before deciding whether a partner falls under your IPP.

# Writing Great Prompts

How to Write Effective Prompts for Partner Scouting

{% hint style="info" %}
**IMPORTANT:** The quality of your results is directly determined by the clarity of your prompt. The more specific you are, the more precisely **Dweep Scouting** can target the right companies and contacts.
{% endhint %}

Dweep Scouting understands natural language, so you don't need to use special commands or formats. Simply describe what you're looking for as if you were explaining your ideal partner to a colleague.

#### 3.1 The Golden Formula

A great prompt answers these 5 questions:

**`WHO? + WHERE? + HOW BIG? + WHY? + WHO TO EXCLUDE?`**

#### A great partner-scoping prompt answers these 5 questions:

* **WHO?** — What type of partner are you looking for?
* **WHERE?** — Which geography or market should they be in?
* <sup>**HOW BIG?**</sup> <sup></sup><sup>— What company size are you targeting?</sup>
* <sup>**WHY?**</sup> <sup></sup><sup>— What makes them a good fit for the partnership?</sup>
* **WHO TO EXCLUDE?** — Which companies or partner types should be excluded?

Example using the formula:

> *"Find cloud co-selling partners (WHO) in the United States (WHERE) with 100–1000 employees (HOW BIG) that are AWS-certified and work with enterprise database customers (WHY) — exclude large SIs and consulting firms (WHO TO EXCLUDE)"*

<br>

#### 3.2 Prompt Examples by Use Case

> *"Find AWS co-sellers in India with 50 to 500 employees that focus on enterprise SaaS or data platforms"*

> *"I need Google Cloud co-selling partners in Southeast Asia who work with financial services companies"*

> *"Find Microsoft Azure co-sellers in Germany that sell into the manufacturing sector"*

> *"Find resellers of cloud security software in the UK with under 300 employees"*

> *"I'm looking for channel partners in Latin America that distribute enterprise software, mid-size companies only"*

> *"Find companies in the US that build API integrations or middleware for ERP systems — small to mid-size"*

> *"Find companies in India that are actively hiring for AWS partnership or cloud alliances roles right now"*

> *"Find US-based SaaS companies hiring a VP of Partnerships or Head of Alliances"*

> *"Find fintech co-sellers in Singapore — I want to connect with decision-makers, VP level or above"*

> *"Find HR tech companies in Bangalore — I need founder-level or C-suite contacts"*

#### 3.3 Tips for Better Results

#### **🎯 Be specific about geography**

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FTaZSXNUkReMFd8HLSGkz%2Fdweep_ex_1.png?alt=media&amp;token=fd10767f-1320-4f9e-bb26-1b2ab52f9cc1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The system resolves geography precisely. The more specific you are, the tighter and more relevant your results.

#### 🎯 **Name the company size**

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FiwJPiv7QDyVmiKlnMXMJ%2Fdweep_ex_2.png?alt=media&amp;token=288e3bce-a7a7-4916-8a38-cd47b5164726" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can also say *"under 500 employees"* or *"between 100 and 1000 employees"* and the system will understand.

#### 🎯 **Mention the partnership type**

Dweep understands these partnership goals:

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2F7Eq0UJbqDnno4qEi6VH3%2Fdweep_ex_3.png?alt=media&amp;token=ce332ece-3cb1-48d0-82ff-bb91eee9e754" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 🎯 **Specify who you want to talk to**

Instead of vague requests, name the job function or seniority:

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2Fg3z4KgS8lHayAiCg36C4%2FdweeP-ex-4.png?alt=media&amp;token=00cb6429-ec3e-4c9c-9ba0-b4206057a81a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Dweep Scouting MCP

Scouting partners has never been easier.

{% hint style="info" %}
Tip: Increase the visibility of your partner program by 400% by publishing your partner program form.
{% endhint %}

## Connecting your organisation to the Dweep MCP

Three things have to be true before partner scouting works: the server knows your *organisation*, it knows *which person* is asking, and that person has a *live LinkedIn session*. This guide covers all three, what you supply for each, and what breaks when one is missing.

Dweep finds B2B partner companies and the people to contact at them. It searches through a real LinkedIn account that someone at your organisation signs into once. Everything below exists to establish and maintain that chain.

Budget about ten minutes. Only step 3 needs a browser, and only step 1 needs someone with access to your organisation's key.

### The identity chain

Three tiers resolve in order on every call. Each one has a distinct failure message, so the error you see tells you exactly which tier is missing — worth learning, because it turns most support questions into a five-second diagnosis.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FYE26FFW955fvpxrVMSl0%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b20d9628-f837-44e2-b1de-818bcdced4db" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

TIER 1 — WHO IS THE COMPANYOrganisation keyAuthorization: Bearerdwk\_live\_…

TIER 2 WHO IS THE PERSONUser handleidentify\_user(user\_id="ayush-b")

TIER 3, WHOSE LINKEDINLinkedIn bindingbrowser sign-in,once per person

IF MISSING, THE SERVER REPLIESidentity\_requiredconnector has no keyuser\_not\_identifiedorg known, person notno\_linkedin\_bindingnobody signed in yetAll three present → ready: true → scouting worksCompany research (financials, ratings, unit economics) works from tier 1 alone.

### What you actually supply

Almost everything is configured on our side already. There are exactly **two** values that come from you, and one of them is per-person rather than per-organisation.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FSWarxQ8FRCGjpKUFPHzZ%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=42b3c2d2-7a5e-49a0-8ade-45c52a1d4806" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Step by step

### 1. Put the organisation key on the connector

Add a custom header to the Dweep MCP connector. Use the key issued to your organisation at onboarding:

```
Authorization: Bearer dwk_live_<your organisation key>
```

It must be the `Authorization` header specifically. The server also accepts `x-dweep-service-key`, but MCP clients restrict which header names they will send, and `Authorization` is the one every client permits. A key beginning `dwk_live_` is recognised as an organisation key rather than a user token, so there is no ambiguity.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Treat this like a password**\
The key grants access to your organisation's scouting and LinkedIn surface. Store it in your secret manager, not in a shared document. If it leaks, ask us to rotate it a replacement can be issued without disturbing existing bindings.
{% endhint %}

#### 2. Claim a handle

The organisation key says which company is calling. It cannot say which of your colleagues is calling, and that matters: LinkedIn accounts are bound per person, not per company.

Pick something short and stable, your name with a dash works. It does not have to exist beforehand; the call creates it.

```
identify_user(user_id="ayush-b")
```

Not an email address, and not a handle you know belongs to someone else — you would be claiming their binding.

#### 3. Connect a LinkedIn account

Ask for a link, open it, and complete the sign-in fully — including any verification step LinkedIn asks for.

```
check_setup()                → tells you what is missing
get_linkedin_connect_url()   → returns a one-time browser link
```

{% hint style="info" %}
**Finish within 15 minutes**

The link carries a single-use token that expires after 15 minutes. If you start the sign-in and come back to it later, LinkedIn will still let you in and the connection will silently fail to complete. Request a fresh link rather than reusing an old one.
{% endhint %}

One LinkedIn account binds to exactly one person. If a colleague has already connected that account, your attempt is refused use a different LinkedIn account, or have them release theirs first.

#### 4. Verify before you rely on it

```
check_setup()   → {"ready": true}
```

Anything other than `ready: true` names the tier that is missing and the next action. The page you land on after signing in is not the confirmation, `check_setup` is.

### What happens when you connect

Worth understanding once, because two of the failure modes in the troubleshooting table only make sense against this sequence.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FGRZrFV4O4xqvmKmneCuC%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=bcee9221-f839-4626-b5d8-bece34373fd0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

*The single-use token is what ties your return to the request that started it. It is created at the beginning of the sequence, not when you click which is why a slow sign-in fails even though LinkedIn itself succeeded.*

### When something is wrong

Every refusal names its reason. Match it here.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FPss5HjwPFcdz2j74xfBP%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=5a5f8a38-ed96-43c7-b98b-0d8f44811920" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**The one failure that looks like success**

If you complete a LinkedIn sign-in and the confirmation page appears but scouting still reports no account, the sign-in worked and the connection did not almost always the 15-minute window. Request a fresh link and complete it promptly. Confirm with `check_setup()` rather than trusting the page.

# Reading the telemetry

What the service records about every call, every search and every verdict, how it gets there, what it can tell you and the three ways it will mislead you if rea

### What exists

Four tables, live and collecting. Everything below is what the deployed service is doing right now, not a plan.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FmMhU0VjurucdE7uvJcdq%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=f14ee140-eb9d-4b6c-bff4-b42f27d290ce" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

*They sit alongside `dweep_audit_log`, which is deliberately separate and unchanged in character: audit answers who did what to whom and is read when somebody has to account for something. Burying a million latency rows in it would make that read useless.*

{% hint style="info" %}
**Everything is scoped by organisation**

All four tables carry `org_id`; `tool_call`, `discovery_run` and `feedback` also carry `u_id`, and `org_day` is keyed on `(org_id, day, tool)`. Every question below can be asked per organisation, per person, or across the whole service.
{% endhint %}

### The workflow

From an assistant calling a tool to a row you can query. Nothing here is opt-in per tool.

* A tool is calledThe identity middleware resolves who is calling, starts a clock, and captures the *shape* of the arguments.
* The gate runsIf the caller is refused, that is recorded as `refused` with the gate's own reason not as an error, and not as silence.
* The tool runsOn return, the payload is classified: `action_required` means refused, `error` means error, anything else is `ok`. Result counts are pulled from the payload where present.
* One row is writtenInto `dweep_tool_call`, in its own transaction, swallowing any failure. Measuring must never break what it measures.
* A search returns companiesA `dweep_discovery_run` row captures the brief, how it was interpreted, how many companies and contacts came back, and whether the run completed.
* The person is askedOnce, after results and again after a draft. Server instructions tell the assistant to ask plainly and to accept silence.
* A verdict is recorded`submit_feedback` writes to `dweep_feedback`, pointing at the run.
* NightlyDays are rolled into `dweep_org_day`, then raw call rows past retention are dropped rollup first, always.

{% hint style="info" %}
**One hook, not twenty-one decorators**

Instrumentation lives in `IdentityMiddleware.__call__`, which already wraps every `tools/call` to resolve the caller and gate the tool. A tool written tomorrow is measured by existing rather than by somebody remembering to annotate it, the same reasoning the account-tool gate uses, and for the same reason: a hand-maintained list drifts, and the drift is silent.
{% endhint %}

### Tool calls

`dweep_tool_call` — the spine. Everything else is a smaller table that points into the same conversation.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FBDWBpMeL3szHA0aPcidg%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=5f557a8d-2606-4c35-9f6e-5a1d4c544cac" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**arg\_shape, as actually written**

live row · scout\_partners

```
{"limit": "number", "prompt_len": 74, "fetch_contacts": false}
```

The brief was 74 characters. What it *said* is not here, that lives on the run row, where it has a reason to exist and a retention story. This is the highest-volume table and the least access-controlled read path, so it holds shapes.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Refused is not error**

A refusal means the gate worked: no binding, no identity, seat limit, wrong account. That is an **onboarding** signal, and it should rise when you add customers and fall as they finish setting up. An error is a **reliability** signal and should trend to zero. Counting them together produces a number that means nothing and can only be argued about.
{% endhint %}

### Discovery runs

`dweep_discovery_run` — the unit a person actually forms an opinion about.

live row

```
run_id      bfda92f3-4fa4-4561-931d-de92458183d8
brief       cloud consulting and systems integrator companies
            that resell CRM software
filters     {"where": "United States",
             "partnership_type": "Resellers & Channel Partners"}
rounds      1
companies   3        contacts   0
sources     {"requested": ["aws"], "contacts_fetched": false,
             "attribution": "not_tracked"}
completed   True
```

`brief` and `resolved_filters` are the pair that matter. The brief is what was asked; the filters are what the service decided that meant. **The most common cause of a bad result is a wrong reading of the brief**, and with only one of the two there is no telling a bad search from a bad interpretation.

`clarification_rounds` rising across a period means briefs are being understood less well. `completed` is false when a run returned nothing, a dissatisfaction signal nobody had to type.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Sources\_used says what it knows**

It records the marketplaces that were *requested*, and carries `attribution: "not_tracked"` to say so. The useful question which source actually contributed, so a source going quiet becomes visible cannot be answered: nothing in the pipeline tags a company with its origin. Answering it means tagging during discovery, which is a pipeline change, not a telemetry one.
{% endhint %}

### Feedback

`dweep_feedback` one row per stated verdict, kept whichever way it went.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FinrfCTq5xaYQI2c1Q0no%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=f9fd7c44-f3c1-46ba-b332-bc9826a0e085" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Why two values and not five stars**

A scale invites a shrug. Most responses land in the middle, and a middle is not actionable nobody can tell what to change from a three. A binary forces a small decision and produces a number that moves when something real changes.
{% endhint %}

### Connect attempts

Not a table of its own, the connect funnel lives in `dweep_audit_log`, because each of these is something somebody might later have to account for.

Connecting a LinkedIn account is the single biggest point of friction in onboarding: it needs a human, a browser and a sign-in, and it is where people stall. The stages below are recorded per person, per organisation, and can be counted.

<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2F32HBtKpvZYtnroM5a1c2%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=e9a56915-2f74-4295-aab5-fa72f34ef07d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**What a link\_issued row carries**

```
{"stage": "link_issued", "attempt": 3, "reconnect": true,
 "conversation": "conn-A", "binding_id": "776eff2b-…"}
# Programs
Get Started with Offline Partners
{% hint style="info" %}
T**ip:** Sharkdom is more than just a partner onboarding platform.
{% endhint %}
📌 Maintaining current partnerships in a spreadsheet can be frustrating.. Moreover, keeping track of which partners are positively impacting your company’s growth requires significant effort..\
\
To solve this problem, companies can import their partners list under the “Offline Partner” section.\
\
-> You can create separate pipeline of your partners outside sharkdom.\
->You can even invite them for better tracking your ***partnership journey***\ <br>
Sharkdom helps you bring these programs into one centralized workspace. Create or connect your partner programs, track submissions, and manage your partner journey from a single platform.\
\
→ Create a dedicated pipeline for partners outside of Sharkdom.\
→ Invite partners to Sharkdom to track and manage the partnership journey togeth\ <br>
<figure><img src="https://3954960519-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FadTM8GarVeiEakkopgTw%2Fuploads%2FvoNIZwCvnooJVKcHbdIC%2FGroup%201000004756.png?alt=media&amp;token=af5efe81-ace9-4fc4-aab0-135e9bbd9ccd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
### How many partners should a growing company have?
There is no fixed number of partners a growing company should have. The ideal number depends on your business model, team capacity, partnership strategy, and the value each partner generates.
Having more partners does not necessarily mean better growth. A smaller number of highly engaged, high-value partners can often deliver better results than a large network of inactive partnerships.Focus on partner quality, engagement, and measurable business impact rather than simply increasing the number of partners
### How to Connect Slack to Your Sharkdom Account
1. **Log in to Sharkdom**\
   Sign in using your Sharkdom account credentials.
2. **Navigate to "My Apps"**\
   From your Sharkdom dashboard, go to the **"My Apps"** section.
6. **Complete Authorization**\
   Follow the Slack OAuth authorization prompts to grant the necessary permissions.
### How This Integration Works
* **Enquiry Notifications**\
  When a partner submits a proposal or enquiry through Sharkdom, an automated message will be sent to your selected Slack channel.
* **Broadcast Messages**\
  Important partnership updates, such as shared opportunities, referral program notifications, or key account overlaps, will trigger Slack messages automatically.
* **Event-Based Alerts**\
  Notifications are triggered only by specific actions, such as when a partner sends a proposal or when there is an update to a partnership opportunity
### Supported Scenarios
| Trigger Action                        | Slack Behavior                                           |
| ------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| Partner sends a proposal              | Sharkdom bot posts an alert in the chosen Slack channel. |
| Referral program enquiry is submitted | Notification message is posted automatically.            |
| Workflow status update                | Relevant Slack channel receives an update.               |
***
### Why Integrate Slack with Sharkdom?
* **Easy Setup:** Quickly integrate your existing CRM and Slack for seamless collaboration with partners.
* **Real-Time Analytics:** Access up-to-date analytics on shared opportunities and account overlaps within Slack.
* **Automated Notifications:** Set up automated Slack alerts to keep your team informed about important partnership updates.
* **Custom Reporting:** Generate detailed reports on partner performance and opportunity outcomes directly from the platform.
&#x20;Note:
This Slack app does not send messages as the user. All notifications are posted by the Sharkdom Bot (**@SharkdomApp**) to the channel selected during setup. The bot does not require manual channel membership because the `chat:write.public` scope is used for messaging.
